The Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret was called to order by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman at 6:00 p.m.,
Thursday, June 21, 2018, Council Chambers, Memorial Municipal
Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey.
Upon Individual Roll Call the following were noted present:

The meeting was opened with a moment of silent prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman.

STATEMENT OF MEETING
The Clerk stated that the 2018 Annual Notice was mailed to The Home NOTICE
News Tribune, The Star Ledger and posted on the bulletin board on
December 28, 2017. Notice was published in The Home News Tribune
and The Star Ledger on January 5, 2018.
Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Krum and unanimous MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers present, the minutes
of June 7, 2018 were approved as transcribed and engrossed by the
Clerk.
The Clerk stated that Ordinance #18 -10 was introduced and adopted
on First Reading on June 7, 2018. It was duly published in Home News

Tribune on June 12, 2018 with notice that it will be considered for final
passage after Public Hearing to be held on June 21, 2018 at
approximately 6:00 p.m. The Ordinance was posted on the bulletin

UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT Unidentified Resident asked what the long term plans for Block 6501
Lots 6 & 7 were.
MAYOR REIMAN Mayor Reiman stated that the Planning Board approved a designation
to include them in the redevelopment zone for the arts district. There
are no immediate plans, once it's in the zone it can be there for months
or years. It's not immediately part of the current arts center. In the
long term there may be an opportunity to sell or buy it. As of now, the
use is undetermined. In the future there will be a plan for what can
and can't be done to the property and then sit down with the property
owners about possible acquisition.
PUBLIC PORTIONS There being no further comments or objections to the
CLOSED Resolutions /Agenda items or new business, upon MMS &C, by
Councilmembers Diaz and Johal and unanimous affirmative vote of the
five (5) Councilmembers present , the public portion of the meeting
was closed.

PAYMENT OF BILLS
REPORTS
Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Krum, all bills appearing
on the prepared list, properly audited and signed, were ordered to be
paid. Upon Individual Roll Call Vote Councilmember Diaz, DiMascio,
Johal, Krum & Naples voted in the Affirmative. Councilmember Bellino
was noted absent.
Mayor Reiman reported Progress in all committees .
After no further discussion, upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz
and Krum and unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5)
Councilmembers present, the meeting was Adjourned at
approximately 6:05 p.m.
