HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-07-1961 L MINUTES OF THE N!EETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT. AUGUST 7,1961 Regular session was called to order by Chairman Marino at 7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers in City Hall -Councilman Salzarulo absent - The following business was had to wit: Councilman J. Hoskins moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Smithmeyer moved that the bills in the amount of - - - $123,923.43 • Plus Interest on 1953 Revenue Bonds 14,671.25 Plus two (2) Payrolls 70,171.74 • . Total $208,766.42 • be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Henn, unanimous voice vote. General Manager Beck, reported that the system demand increased 6.3% in July 1961 over July 1960. The Finance Committee approved the purchase of $10,000.00 in Revenue Bonds from the John Nuveen & Company, , of Chicago, Ill. at a cost of $9,900.00, maturing July 1, 1971 and bearing 3% interest. Councilman Yount moved that the Board of Directors approve the budget of $375.00 for the light plant recreation program, seconded by Councilman ,Youngflesh, unanimous voice vote. General Manager. Beck reported that he has received several petitions to serve Public Service Co. of Indiana customers on Hodgin Road, Pleasant View Road, Gaar Road and Middleboro Pike. No action was taken on the matter at this time. City Attorney Cecere read a letter from John C. Melaniphy, Chairman of the City Task Force on bid-rigging damages, stating that if the City desires to proceed in filing claims of damages for bid-rigging, the task force staff will assist them. Chairman Marino instructed the Board of Directors to study the matter and report their desires at the next meeting. There being no further business, Councilman J.
