HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-03-1961 18 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTFF IN • CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT JULY 3, 1961 • Regular session was called to order by Councilman Marino at 7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers in City Hall - Councilman Smithmeyer absent - The 11/ following business was had to wit: • Councilman Johnsbn'moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous _ meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman J. Hoskins, unanimous' voice vote. • Councilman Yount moved that the bills in the amount of - A $66,059-.88 Plus Interest on 1953 Revenue Bonds 15,121.67 Plus Principal on Revenue Bonds 94,625.00 '-Plus 3 Payrolls 104•,256.32 'Plus following transfer from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund: ' 4•,625.00 Total $284•,687.87 . • be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. Councilwoman C. Hoskins moved that the Board of Directors approve the recommendation of General Manager Beck to purchase the service truck body, from the Holan Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio, their bid'of $1197.43 was low, seconded by Councilman Yount, Unanimous voice vote. General Manager Beck, explained that since ordering the 10,000 KVA trans- formers from the General Electric Company, they have made certain improvements in their transformer design, and is not an exact duplicate of the two trans- formers purchased from general Electric in 1955, but will in every way meet -our specifications. Councilman Yount moved that General Manager Beck be authorized to accept the improved design, seconded by Councilman Henn, . unanimous voice vote; • Councilwoman C. Hoskins reported that the people residing in Worley Court, on Indiana Avenue, were very well pleased with the new street lights installed there by the Richmond Power and Light. Councilman Johnson moved that the meeting be adjourned, there being no further business, seconded by Councilman J. Hoskins; unanimous voice vote. Chairman Attest: V ' Cle
