MINUTES OF THE MEhTING OF THE COITION
COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN
CHARGE OF OPERATING THE RICHMOND
POWER AND LIGHT.
June 19, 1961
Regular session was called to order by .Chairman Marino at 7:00 PM, in the
Chambers in City Hall - All members present - The following business was
had to wit:
Councilman J. Hoskins moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilwoman Hoskins, unanimous voice
vote.
Councilman Henn moved that the bills in the amount of - - - - $75;279.14
. Plus following transfers from Cash Operating Fund:
To Utility Bond Fund $27,446.26
To Depreciation Res. Fund 36,000.00
To Cash Reserve Fund 53,319.79 116,766.05
TOTAL $192,045.19
be allowed and paid, . seconded by Councilman J Hoskins, unanimous voice vote. •
General M nager Beck opened the following sealed bids for a Service Truck
Body:
Allied Truck Equipment Indianapolis, Indiana $1,395.00
Delphi Body Works Delphi, Indiana 1,230.90
Holan Corporation Cleveland, Ohio 1,197.43
McCabe-Powers Body Co. St. Louis, Missouri 1,422.00
Councilman Youngflesh moved that the bids be referred to Mr. Beck for study
and_recommendation, seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote.
Councilman Youngflesh moved that the committee concur with the recommendation
of General Manager Beck to award the bid for a Service truck Chassis to the
Raper Sales, Inc. for a Dodge Chassis on their low bids, seconded by Council-
man Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote.

Total Cost $1835.85 •
Councilman Yount moved that the directors authorize General Manager Beck to
invest $200,000.00 in Reserve Funds, by purchasing securities recommended
by the finance committee, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice
vote.
Councilman Smithmeyer moved to approve that the Richmond Light & Power co-
operate with the American Legion in conjunction with the annual 4th of July
celebration, seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote.
• General Manager Beck reported that the sale of scrap copper and lead amounted
to $20,989.48 last year, and goes into the Plant's general fund.
Councilman Smithmeyer inquired about electric heat for the new fire station
at South 8th & "L" street. Mr. Beck said the light plant can compete with
other types of heating.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned;
