MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
SERVING AS A COMMITT-FR IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION
OF THE RICHMOND LIGHT AND POWER
April 17, 1961
Regular session was called to order by Chairman Marino at 7:00 PM, in the
Council Chambers in City Hall. All members present, the following business
was had to wit:
Councilman Johnson moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous •
meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman J. Hoskins, unanimous
voice vote:

Councilman Yount moved, that the bills in the amount of $84,170.62
- plus interest on 1953 Revenue Bond 445.00
plus following transfers from Cash
Operating Fund:
• To Utility Bond Fund 27,636.52
• To Depreciating Reserve Fund 36,000.00
To Cash Reserve Fund 45,266.82
$193,518.96 Total
be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilwoman C. Hoskins, unanimous voice
vote.
The following bids for a 1961 truck chassis were opened by General Mamager
Beck.

Councilman Smithmeyer moved that the bids be taken under advisement, seconded
by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote.

Councilman Johnson moved that the bids be taken under advisement, seconded by
Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote.
Councilman Yount Moved that the Board authorize General Manager Beck to advise
the Asplundh Tree Expert Co. of Louisville, Ky., to submit a contract of their
Tree Trimming Proposal to him for study, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer,
unanimous voice vote.
The Board authorized General Manager Beck to invest $200,000.00 in US Treasury
Bonds from $100,000.00 in the Cash Reserve Fund and $100,000.00 in Depreciation
Reserve Fund.
Councilman Yount moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilwoman
C. Hoskins, unanimous voice vote.
