February 6, 1961 Regular session was called to order by Chairman-Marino at 7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Councilwoman C. Hoskins absent, the following business was had to wit: Councilman Henn moved, that the reading of the minutes of the previous • - - meeting be dispensed- with, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Henn moved that the bills in the amount of $168,123.68 Plus principal on the 1953. revenue bonds 5,000.00 Plus interest on the 1953 revenue bonds • 26.4.78.75 Total bills $199,602.43 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote. Sealed bids were opened for a 1961 automobile -for the- use of the light plant • by General Manager Beck. The bids are less 1954 ply. 2 dr. trade-in. The Board referred the bids to General Manager •Beck for recommendation. The Board of Directors authorized Mr. Beck to invest $1 ,442,000.00 from Depreciation Reserve Fund and Consumers Deposit Fund in Government Bonds. Councilman Yourigflesh moved, that the Board authorize General Manager Beck - to investigate and make a report of a General Electric 33,000 KW Turbine Generator, owned by the Ebasco International Corporation for the possibility of purchasing it for the' Light Plant, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote. • A discussion was held, between members of Council, General Manager Beck,.' City Attorney Cecere and Mayor Cutter, concerning the several Street Lighting projects now under consideration. The decision made, was that the modernizing of 8th and- 9th streets, from North "C" street to South "Q" street should have preference over other projects and be started immediately. - Councilman J, Hoskins moved that the meeting adjourn, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. .
