HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-03-1960 312 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING.AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER-AND LIGHT. October 3, 1960 Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers in City Hall. Councilman Youngflesh was absent. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Johnson, moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Marino, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Marino, moved that the bills in the amount of $1440475.21 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. The Light Plant Board of Directors, authorized plant manager Beck to retire the 5000 KW Tirbo-Generator, that was installed at the Johnson Street Station in 1921,and is no longer in use, and to offer it for sale. Light Plant Manager E,Beck, reported that the Whitewater Valley Station would be shutdown approximately a month for repairs on an extension to the smokestack, by the Oberle- Jordre Company.' Power will be supplied by the Johnson Street Station and the interconnection with the Indiana- Michigan Electric Company. Mr. E. Beck, said that he was working on an electric heating rate schedule for commercial and industrial consumers, and would submit it to Council as soon as completed. The Board of Directors, on recommendation of Mr. Beck, authorized Earl Porter to sign bills for the Light Plant during Mr. Beck's 11/ vacation, starting October 10, 1960.
