HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-06-1960 310 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER PLANT. September 6, 1960 Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at 7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers in City Hall, all members were present, the following business was had to-wit: Councilman Marino moved the hinutes. of':the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Salzarulo, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Johnson; moved the bills in the amount of $141,068.27 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote. The Board of Directors approved, on the recommendation of Light Plant General Manager E. Beck', for the Plant's recreational program. ( $450.00 ) Light Plant General Manager E. Beck, reported 10 - $100,000,00 U.S. Treasury certifications were due for delivery here, and for members of the finance committee to be on hand to make the deposit. • , Councilman Henn, presented an amendment to Declaratory Resolution No. 6-1960, the amendment to read: " BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE WAYNE- COUNTY TREASURER, THE OFFICE MANAGER OF THE M.E.L. & P.P. AND ONE MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE AT ALL OPENINGS OF SAID SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES". Councilman Henn, moved that the amendment be adopted, seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote. Mr. Beck, reported negotiations are in progress to provide better lighting in Spring Grove and along that section of U.S. #27 which is in Spring Grove(' General Manager Beck, presented a preliminary schedule of a revised method of billing for Richmond street lights, under the new plan the charge would be made by units instead of kilowatt hours as used now, also, the monthly average billing would drop from $7,829.00 to $7,792.20. Jar, Beck will submit the schpi,f1e to the Board for approval. There being no further business the meeting adjourned; Chairman Attest: Clerk
