HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-01-1960 • 307 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL LIGHT PLANT. August 1, 1960 Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at•7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers' of City Hall, all members present. The . following business was had to-wit: 111 . Councilman Marino, moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. • Councilman Youngflesh, moved the bills in the amount of $84,137.57 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Henn, unanimous voice vote. • Mr. Beck reported on the new lights that. are being installed., he said they should be turned on to-night from 10th to 12th streets, 4th to 6th streets would be completed by the end of the week. The materials for 1st to 4th streets would be in this week, also, the possibility of Main street bridge being re-lamped. Mr. Beck reported radio and television interference in the eastern section of the City. Action is being taken- to relieve this this situation® U.S. Highway +27 is about completed, new approaches from #27 and 5th street are being completed. Conferences are being held in regards to Service Buildings, proposals are to be submitted in the' near future, • Mr. Beck stated a report had been received from the State Board of Accounts and- no particular item received much attention. Councilman Marino asked if many complaints were received regarding fly-ash, Mr. Beck replied that very few complaints were received and explained that more work is to be done. There being no further business, Councilman Marino moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote. Chairman • Attest: U.c Acting Clerk
