HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-18-1960 306 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL LIGHT PLANT. July 18, 1960 Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at 7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Councilman Henn was absent. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Smithmeyer, moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed ,with, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Johnson, moved that the bills in the amount of $367.844.15 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Youngflesh, unanimous voice vote. Mr. Beck reporting on the generation for June 1960, said that the peak load was off 1.36% and the system demand was off 4.11% from June 1959, but for the first six months the revenue was 4 per cent above that of last year for the same period. General Manager Beck, reported that the total bill for the repairs to the transformer at the Nhitewater Valley Station was: Circuit Breaker - $1,220.21 Grounding Trans. $6,206.14 Generator Trans. $45,278.46 Boiler $24,626.53 $77,331.34 General Manager Beck, said that insurance claims of over $75,000.00, had been agreed upon, with the possibility of recovering the entire amount. Mr. Beck, reported that he was continuing his investigation into plans for a new service building for the plant, having visited buildings in Columbus and Plainfield, Indiana, and in the near future will inspect buildings in Ohio, and plans to take another six weeks in deciding upon plans for the -building here. There being no further business, Councilman Marino moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote.
