HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-20-1960 364 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF • RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERA_TION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER PLANT • June 20, 1960 Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Council members C. Hoskins, Marino, and Salzarulo were absent. The following business was had to-wit; . Councilman Johnson, moved that the reading of the previous minutes of the • previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote. III Councilman Johnson, moved that the bills in the amount of $150,992.00 be allowed and paid, seconded- by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote. The following transfers were included in the bills: From Cash Operating • Fund: $36,000.00 to Depreciation Reserve Fund $36,568.52 to Cash Reserve Fund $28,158.75 to Utility Bond Fund . This date had been set to-open bids for a new diesel crawler tractor for the use of the Light Plant, the following sealed bids were opened; " Company Make Trade in Net Price McAllister Catapillar $2000.00 $10,759.00 Southwood Machinery Oliver . $3755.00 $ 8,945.00 - Flesch-Miller Allis-Chalmers included • 3 roller $10,396.00 " " " " 5 roller $10,696.00 Indiana Equip. International $3750.00 $10,123.00 Korte Bros, Inc. Case $2850.00 $10,334.25 . Councilman Youngflesh, moved on the recommendation of Plant Mgr. Beck to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice vote. III This date had been set to open bids for a half-ton pick-up truck for the use of the Light Plant, the following bids were opened: Company Make Trade in Net Price D. GMC - $438.83 $2159.52 • Vivian Buick International $550.00 $1595.00 Councilman Smithmeyer on recommendation of Mr. Beck, moved to take the bids under advisement, , seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Youngflesh, moved to grant the Light Plant permission to co- operate with the Harry Ray Post #65 of the American Legion to display fireworks this 4th of July. Councilman Yount and Councilman Smithmeyer, reported that they didn't like the fixtures on the ornamental on South 3rd street, near the license bureau.
