MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,
INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE
OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC_ LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
March 21, 1960
Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at 7:00 PM, in
the Council Chambers in City Hall, Councilman Smithmeyer and Councilman
Johnson were absent. The following business was had To-Wit:
Councilman Salzarulo moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed
,with, seconded by Councilman Youngflesh, unanimous voice vote.
Councilman Youngflesh moved that the bills in the amount of $213,',479.83
be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Salzarulo, unanimous voice vote.
The following transfers were made from Cash Operating Fund
$36,000.00 to Depreciation Reserve Fund
$32,958.43 to Utility Bond Fund Cash

$51,514.05 to Cash Reserve Fund Cash
This date had been set to award the bid for a new automobile for the use of
the Light Plant. The specifications and bids were discussed by the Committee.
Councilman Yount moved to award the bid to Dea Meadows Ford, for a 1960 Falcon
2 door, seconded by Councilman Henn. The bid is $1567.61 and 1953 Chev. trade
in, ( the equipment was the deciding factor in awarding the bid to the next
lowest bidder) The following vote was recorded: Ayes, Henn, C. Hoskins, Marino,
Salzarulo, Youngflesh and.Yount, Nayes: None. Councilman Smithmeyer and
Johnson absent.
Councilman Yount moved to concur with the recommendation of Mr. Beck that the
Light Plant purchase 5 $1000.00 1953 Revenue Bonds, seconded by Councilman
Marino, unanimous voice vote.
Mr. Beck reported that the repairs to the Whitewater Valley Station were
progressing rapidly, and the Plant would be back in operation approx.
April 1, 1960 as per schedule.
Councilman Marino reported on the possibility of fly ash from the Wh er
La -le S-t ti-on, gettin into the sewer system, the matter was referred o the

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
