HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-15-1960 296, • • MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT. February 15, 1960 • Regular session was called to order by Chairman J. Hoskins at 7:00 PM. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Councilman Smithmeyer was absent. . The following business was had To- Wit: Councilman Marino moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be dispened with, seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Henn moved that the bills in the amount of $195,997,26 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilwoman C. Hoskins, unanimous voice vote. City Attorney Cecere reported that Mr. John Heiney, president of the Richmond Water Works Corporation is desirous of having a meeting with the Board of Sanitary Commiss ioners of_Richmond Sanitary District and a Committee in charge of operating the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, to discuss the water supply to the main-Street Plant with the construction of the new Reservoir north of the City. Chairman J. Hoskins announced that he would be on the committee with Councilman Johnson and Councilwoman C. Hoskins to represent the Light Plant. Mr. Beck recommended that the 1953 Chev. used by the Light Plant be replaced as it is in need of major repairs. Councilman Marino moved to receive bids for a new car as per Mr. Becks specifications at the next meeting, seconded by Councilman Yount, unanimous voice vote. " Mr. Beck gave a report on the progress of the damaged Whitewater Valley Generating Plant. Delivery dates have been established on the materials needed to finish the repairs being made by the General Electric Company, and they estimate the job will be completed by approx. the first of April. Current will continue to be supplied the City by the interconnection with the Indiana Michigan Electric Co. Councilman Marino reported residents of the Berry Field appreciated the fine job that has been done for them by the MEL & PP. The following transfers were made from Cash Operating Fund: • $28,524.38 to Utility Bond Fund Cash $44,214.98 to Cash Reserve Fund $36,000.00 to Depreciation Reserve Fund • There being no further business, Councilman Marino moved the meeting be adjourned._, seconded by Councilman J.
