Minutes Of The Meeting Of The Common Council
Of The City Of nichmond, Indiana , Serving as
A Committee In Charge Of The Operation Of The
Municipal Electric Lighting And Power Plant.
Monday, November 16 ,1959
The regular session was called to order by Councilman Crum at the
hour of 7: 00 PM, in the Council Chambers in City Hall , Councilman
Eastman and Smithmeyer absent.
Councilman Marino moved the reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting be dispensed with. Seconded by Councilman Salzarulo.
Unanimous voice vote.
Councilman Thomas moved that bills in the amount of 1177,10$.15 be
allowed and paid. Seconded by Councilman Vivian. Unanimous voice vote.
Councilman Marino moved that employees of the Light Plant be granted a
seventh paid holiday. Said holiday to be Good Friday. Seconded by
Councilman Salzarulo. Unanimous voice vote.

. Councilman Crum announced that there would be an informal meeting at
!` the LLight Plant Committee on November 23 ,1959 , at 7: 30PM at the
Whitewater Valley Generating Plant for a discussion with Mr. Beck
LIZ regarding the Master Plan for City Lighting.
Councilman Salzarulo said he had been reading of some generating
plants converting to gas. Mr. Beck replied that this would be out of
the question forRichmond as not enough gas is available to fire more
than one boiler .
Mr. Beck presented the MEL&PP proposed budget for 1960.Councilman
Marino moved this 1960 budget proposal be accepted. Seconded by ✓
Councilman Vivian. Unanimous voice vote. The Clerk was instructed
to prepare an Ordinance for Council for the meeting to be held
December 7, 1959.
Councilman Salzarulo asked the Presiding Officer to invite the
Councilmen elect to the meeting on the 23rd of November. Councilman
Crum said they would be invited.
Included in the bills were the following transfers:
$36 ,000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund_ Cash
36 ,4,.63 .47 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund
2$,785. 51 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund_Cash
There being no Further Business , on motion duly made , seconded and
carried , the meeting adjourned.
