ORDINANCE NO. 71-2005
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED WAY OF THE WHITEWATER VALLEY
WHEREAS, The United Way of the Whitewater Valley has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used by the Widowed Persons Service operated by the Richmond
Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the United Way of the Whitewater Valley.
2. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($8,700.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department, shall be appropriated to fund programs and services provided by the Widowed Persons Service, in the
following manner:
(a) $5,350.00 towards operating expenses related to the Senior Widowed Program; and
(b) $3,350.00 towards operating expenses related to the Young Widowed Program.
Passed and adopted this 17th_ day of October__________ 2005, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
