A COMP TTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT
MONDAY, DETJETEER 16, 1957

Regular session called to order at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers in City Hall
'Councilman Marino presiding, All members present. The following business was
had, to-wit;
It was moved and seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting bd dispensed
with,
Councilman Crum moved the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Thomas,
Mr. Beck reported the total operating revenue. for November, 1957 exceeded any
other previous year. Also that there was no gain or loss in the number of meters
as of the first of the year, Mr. Beck indicated that the business was picking up,
dispite the loss of 2 industries,
The proposed contract with Black & Veatch was discussed and a time limit of one
year was set with the provision that the city can reopen this AS any question •
arises, Mr. Beck stated that he would have a report from Black & Veatch by the
-first of the year. It was reported that Black & Veatch had submitted a letter
to the State Board of Accounts on how to perform services on the Johnston Street
Station,- and will have a full report in the near future, .
Mr, Beck presented a letter to Councilman Crum in regard to the proposed Build.
ing Code on what is to be expected from persons before a permit is issued,
Councilman Vivian was appointed to serve with14r. Beck and City Attorney Cecere,
as a committee, until a contract is reached between Indiana..Michigan on Stand
by and interconnection service,
