Councilman Marino presiding. Councilman Crum and Hoskins absent. IIIThe following business was had, to.wit; Councilman Smithmeyer moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Seconded by Councilman Walterman. Unaminous. Councilman Thomas moved the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Vivian. Unaminous. The Clerk read a letter from the Richmond Retail Merchants Bureau,Inc. asking cooperation of the MEL & PP in furnishing power and over-all supervision of the Christmans Light dis- play. Unaminous consent to cooperate was given as in the past. Mr. Beck reported the system demand was down .31% as compared to October 1956 and- the <5" peak load was down 3.45% for the.same period. Mr. Beck reported the following two bids had been received for the two year period for lamps for street lights and other purposes: Richmond Electric 40% discount Westinghouse Supply 40% discount _ (Muncie,Ind) Councilman Eastman moved to award the bid to Richmond Electric.Seconded by Councilman Salzarulo. Unaminous. Mr. Beck reported he had met with the school architect and school officials regarding electrically heating the new Richmond school. He said he would finish apurposed rate to the Committee and if they approved, he will submit to Public Service Commission for approvals Mr. Beck said he hoped to be able to use this same rate commercially. Councilman Smithmeyer moved that the Clerk prepare and ordinance for the 1958 light Plant Budget for presentation at the next meeting. Seconded by Councilman Salzarulo. Unaminous. Claims in the amount of $194,637.52 were allowed. Of this amount, the following transfer was made; Cash Operating From Depreciation Reserve Fund, $59,649.72 There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. ;:;214-7701q; • Chairman Attest: Clerk
