MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE( CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE" OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT,
MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1957
Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers in City Hall. Council-
man Marino presiding. All members present. The following business was had, to.wit;

Councilman Smithmeyer moved the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be
dispensed with. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Unaminous.
Councilman Smithmeyer moved the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Salzarulo.
Unaminous.
Referring to the bids on the transformer received at the September 16 meeting Mr.
Beck recommended the bid be awarded to the Westinghouse Company because they did
not have a 10% price adjustment clause in their bid. '
Councilman Eastman moved the 1500 KVA transformer be purchased from Westinghouse
for the csum of $11,045.00. Seconded by Councilman Salzarulo. Unaminous.
Councilman Smithmeyer moved that the Engineer firm of Black and Veatch be hired to
survey only. the generating facilities of the MEL & PP and to make recommendations
to the Light Plant Committee regarding future expansion. Seconded by Councilman
Salzarulo. Carried by voice vote.
Bills in the amount of $169,289.93 were allowed. Of this amount the following trans..
fers were made: -
$10,666.76 from Depreciation Reserve Fund o Cash to Cash Operating Fund
$30,229.16 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund
$36,000.00 from Cahh Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Bund ® Cash
$22,952.06 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve- Fund
There being no further business, on motion duly made- and seconded, the meeting
adjourned.
