HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-07-1957 23.1 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMNITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, MONDAY OCTOBER 7, 1957 Regular meeting called to order at 7: 00 PM in Council Chambers in City Hall. Councilman Marino presiding, Councilman:Vivian absent, Minutes of ide previous meeting'dispensed with. The following business was had, to-wit; Councilman Smithmeyer moved the -reading of the minutes of the previous meeting Illbe dipensed with. Seconded by Councilman Saizarulo, Unamin.ous . 'Councilman Smithmeyer moved the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman_Thomas, Unaminous. Mr. Beck said the generation report for September showed the system demand vas down .371, and the peak load down 3.11% as compared with the same month last year. Speaking of the bids received on transformers at the last meetings Mr. Beck reported the Eton Mfg. Co. was undecided as to who should our'c_ha se the transformers so he suggested the bids be Yield until a. decision is made, t'Py! Mr. Beck reported that 1! do-d P_aLii].t-cr P erc;c r l D ,'ce+� . , r- __ .c•:,• of the Light Plant, had resigned as of 10-7-57, to accept a position -offering more money and security. He also reported one of the Engineers, Lou Bradford, was leaving in the near future for the same reason, - Mr-. Beck said the-Light Plant had some obsolete equipment that he would like to sell and that he would check with the City Attorney as to the proper proceedure to follow and report at a future meeting. Referring to a letter of several, weeks ago regarding rewiring the generators at the Johnston Street Stalon, Mr. Beck asked for a meeting of the Light Plant Committee to discuss this work. The meeting was set for Tuesday, October 15, 1957, at 7:00 PM at the Johnston Street Station.
