MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, MONDAY, AUGUST 19,1957 Regulate meeting called to order at 7:Q0 PM in Council '`hmnbers in City Hall. Councilman Marino presiding. All members present. The following business was had,to..wit; • Councilman Smithmeyer moved the minutes be approved as published. Seconded by Councilman Eastman. Unaminous. Councilman Crum moved the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Eastman. Unaminous. Councilman 6mithmeyer reported that the Light Plant was not being paid by the _ City for maintenance to traffic lights, Mr. Beck added that he had a bill dated 1-31-57 that had not been paid as well as a bill dated 7431-57 that was unpaid. Also the Light Plant was holding bills for damages in the amount of $1080.99. The Mayor remarked that the Board of Public Works & Safety was working out an agree- ment, with the State Highway regarding the replacement and maintenance of traffic lights. Mr. Beck said the'City should assume maintenance of these lights and collect from the State Highway. Mr. Beck reported that `hitewater Sales(International Trucks) was discontinuing truck files in Richmond and that if the Light Plant bought an International Truck chassis for the hole digger delivery would be indefinite and a problem of service and replacement could develops. He suggested the bid awarded to Whitewater Sales at the meeting of August 5,1957, be withdrawn and awarded-to the next low bidder. Councilman Thomas moved to recind the motion to August 5,1957 regarding the pur- chase of a earth boring machine from Highway Trailer Company and the purchase of a truck chassis from Whitewater Sales and to purchase a earth boring machine from the Highway Trailer Company for ?$9,125.00 and a truck chassis from Dea Meadows Ford Sales for $3,976.00. Seconded by Councilman ")mithmeyer. Unaminous. Mr. Beck reminded the Councilman that they had the wage. proposal from the Em- ployees Committee and some action should be taken in the near future. A meeting of the Councilman with Mr. Beck ` .0 W �,m was set for Sept. 5,1957 at 7:00 PM at the Whitewater Generating Plant. • Claims in the amount of $159,696.1 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made; • $22,172.95 from Cash Operating fund to Cash Reserve Fund $30,229.17 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund $36,000.00 from Cash Operating rtfind to Depreciation Reserve Fund-Cash There being no further business, on-motion duly made and seconded the meeting adjourned. • Chairman • • .
