MMNUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
• OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN.CHARGE,OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, APRIL 15, 1957
'Rebular meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers in City Hall.
Councilman Eastman presiding. Councilman Marino absent.
On motion duly made and seconded, the reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Councilman Salzarule moved that the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilwomen
Hoskins.
Mr. Beck reported he was working out small problems relating to the contract for
appraisal of Light Plant property and that the contract would be signed in the
CO very near future.
_^" Councilman Vivian moved that Mr. Beck file the following revised rates for rural
commercial lighting customers with the Indiana Public Service Commission. Seconded

Mr. Beck reported that these proposed new rates would make electricity for heating
competitive with other heating fuels and would make the rate competitive with that
of private utilities in the surrounding areas. +,
Claims in the amount of $156,460.06 were allowed. Of this amount the following
transfers were made:
to Cash Reserve Fund from Cash Operating Fund .v $33,080.41
To Utility Bond Fund ® Cash from Cash Operating Fund .. $30,520.82
To Depreciation Reserve Fund from Cash Operating Fund - $36,000.00
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
