MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF` THE CITY OF. RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
NLn?ICI? L ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT,
MONDA Y, APRIL 1, 1957
Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 PM in Council Ghambers in City Hall.
Councilman Eastman presiding. Councilman Marino absent.
On motion duly made and seconded the reading of the minutes of the previous
meting were dispensed with.

Councilman Walterman moved the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Smith-
meyer, Unaminous.
Mr. Beck reported the system demand for March was down 4.6% from March of 1956.
and that the peak load was also down 4.6% from the same period.
Mr. Beck said that several items had been omitted from the appraisal cost sub-
mitted by the American appraisal Company and that approximately $600.00 additional
should be added to the cost. Councilman Crum moved that $600.00 additional expense
for the appraisal of the American Appraisal Company be allowed, subject to the ap-
proval of the insurance underwriters. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Unaminous.
Mr. Beck said that the MEL & PP had lost two small commercial accounts to another
supplier in the last year and he had been checking rates with other utilities and
was designing a new rate to make the use of electricity for commercial heating
competitive.
Claims in the amount of $155,530.50 were allowed.
There being no further business, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting
adjourned.
