MONDAY,-.January 21, 1957 • Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers in City Hall. Councilman Eastman presiding with Councilman Marino & Smithmeyer being absent,: Councilman Crum moved and Councilman Salzarulo seconded to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. Councilman Salzarulo moved that the .bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. After Mr. Beck explained the type of bills that had been paid before their 'approval by the Board, Councilman Salzarulo made the following motion: That the City Attorney prepare an. ordinance authorizing the City "ontroller to pay certain Light Plant bills without approval of the whole :Light Plant Boatd. Seconded by Councilman Crum. C3 ' Mr. Don Bell appeared before the Board and explained the problem of valuating the equip- ment of the MEL & PP and advised that appraisals be purchased for the equipment at the Johnson Street Plant. Councilman Thomas moved- that Mr. .Beck secure several proposals etfor the appraisal of the Johnson Street Plant and submit same to Board. Seconded by et Councilman Salzarulo. - 'Councilwomen Hoskins askedMr.Beck about the remarks a certain Councilman had made regarding the inadequacies of the Imo, & PP to serve new industry that might want to locate in Richmond. Mr.Beck said he would be glad to answer any charges made in,a meeting called for that purpose, but he didn't have sufficient time at 'the present. However, he did say that the capacity of the M-7, & PP was 8O,000 KW- and that the highest the demand had ever been was L0,000KW and he felt the Light Plant could _ supply the demand of any industry that wanted to locate in Richmond. Claims in the amount of $151,552.04 were. allowed. Of this amount, the follor'ning transfers -$30,520:n :'tof. Utility Bond Fund - Cash from Cash Operating Fund 36,000.00 to Depreciation Reserve Fund _ Cash-from Cash Operating Fund 31,138.33 to Cash Reserve Fund from Cash Operating Fund There bing no further business, nn motion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned.
