CONNITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, MONDAY, JANUARY 7, 1957 Regular meeting• called to order at 7:00 P.N. in -Council Chambers in City Hallo Councilman Marino presiding. Councilman Smithmeyer absent. _ Councilman Walterman moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Seconded by Councilman Salzarulo. Councilman Salza.ru.lor moved that the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Walterman. Mr. Beck reported that the system demand for December 1956 was 6% below that for the same period in 1955 and the peak load w ::,s down 3.5% from the same period in 1955. Mr. Beck read several paragraphs from the report issued by the State Board of Accounts in which the MEL & PP was complimented for their record keening. He said the report commented on the payment of light plant bills at business establishments. Mr. Beck said he had made a check of the places that accept payment of these bills; and that all but one of the places were covered by surety bonds to protect against loss. The other carried their own insurance and had written a letter assuming full responsibility for the monies collected. The refund of consumer deposits will be done by section of town instead of alphabetically, Mr. Beck announced. Mr. Beck said he did not agree with the insurance valuations on the Whitewater Generating Plant as established by the Insurance Underwriters and that he would like to get valuations by other persons. City Controller Wilson reported to the Board that in the past, some MEL & PP hill's had been paid before approval by this body. He asked Mr. Beck to check on this and report his findings. Clims in the amount of $653,382.07 were allowed. Of this amount, the following transfers were made: $351,831.60 from Cash Reserve Fund to the City of Richmond 36,900.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund - Cash There being no further business, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned. l,1(Gii,_��l/c Attests kiii-e,"& � City Clerk
