Greencastle Board of Public Works and Safety
A RESOLUTION TO SELL RIGHT -OF -WAY
TO PUTNAM COUNTY
WHEREAS, Putnam County is reconstructing Bridge No. 137 (Crowe's Bridge) along County
Road 100 E over Big Walnut Creek;
WHEREAS, the reconstruction project entails realigning and rebuilding the bridge slightly west of
its current location, which requires purchasing right -of -way from the City of Greencastle near one of its well
fields;
WHEREAS, Putnam County has followed the Uniform Relocation Act, has had two appraisals
perforated for the property, and has offered the City $8,080.00 as just compensation for the right -of -way;
and
WHEREAS, said transfer is being made consistent with Indiana Code 36- 1 -11 -8;
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE hereby accepts
Putnam County's offer to purchase, from the City of Greencastle, the right -of -way described in Attachment
A, which is incorporated herein and made a part hereof for the total sum of $8,080.00, and conditioned upon
the County making certain improvements to the approach to the City's monitoring well, as indicated in
Attachment A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Board of Public Works and Safety does hereby grant
Mayor Sue Murray the authority to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the sale of the property.
