MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING. AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1956
Regular meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers in City Hall
Councilman Salzarulo presiding. -Councilman Vivian absent. -
Councilman Eastman moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as pub-
lished. Seconded by Councilman Walterman.I

Councilman Marino moved that bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilwomen Hoskins.
Mr. Beck reported that the Whitewater Valley Generating Plant would be down from Jan. -
14 to Jan. 28 instead of the dates previously announced. He said he had a letter from
the Indiana_Michigan Electric Corporation confirming the supply of electricity during
the shut down.

Mr. Beck reported that the MEL & PP still had two contracts that were still outstanding.
1 One with Westinghouse that will be paid if inspections made during the shut down show
.r.^: their work to be satisfactory. The other contract with the Lberle Jordre Company for
.< the stack extension.
'e Referring to the November financial report, Mr. Beck said the NEL & PP wasn't doing as
good as he had Anticipated and said he would call a meeting after the first of the year
for a discussion of the financial situation.

Claims in the amount Of $118,960.15 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers
were made:
$30,520.84 from Gash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund-Cash
$29,734.04 from Gash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund. .
IThere being no further business presented, on motion duly made and seconded, the
meeting adjourned. •
