MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 1956

The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge
of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular
Isession in the Council Chambers in City Hall in said City on Monday, November 19,1956,
at the hour of 7:00 PM (DST). Councilman Salzarulo presiding with the following mem-
bers present: Messrs Crum, Eastman, Hoskins, Marino, Thomas, Vivian and Walterman.
Councilman Smithmeyer being absent. the following business was had, to-wit:
Councilman Marino moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as pub-
lished. Seconded by Councilman Crum.
Councilman Crum moved that the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Eastman.
en Councilman Marino moved that each employee of the MELl&PP be given five dollars ($5.00)
- + as a Christmas bonus. The term employees not to include City Officials. Seconded by
,n Councilman Drum.
• Mr. Beck reported that the stack extension at the Whitewater Valley Generating Plant
°t would be completed and in operation sometime between Christmas and New Years,
City Controller Wilson asked Mr. Beck about the variations in the light bills that
have been received by the city. Mr.. Beck asked Mr. Wilson to prepare a list of the
items in question and bring them to his attention for explanation.
Claims in the amount of $147,455.29 were allowed. Of this amount the following trans-
fers were made:
$ 36,000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund .- Cash
III 30,812.49 from Cash Operating fund to Utility Bond Fund - Cash
27.584.75 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve and
There being no further business, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned.
