ELECTRiC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT. • MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, 1956 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular . session in the Council Chambers in City Hall in said City on Monday, October 15, 1956, Iat the hour of 7:00 PM (DST) , Councilman Crum presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Eastman, Hoskins, Marino, Smithmeyer, Thomas and Vivian. Councilmen Salza,rulo and Walterman being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: Council Eastman moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as Published. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Councilman Vivian moved that the bills be allowed. • Seconded by Councilman Eastman. CO Mr.Beck told the members of Council that the other Richmond utilities would close . w-6 their offices on Monday, November 12, 1956 in observance of Veterans Day which falls ,, on Sunday, November 11,• 1956. He asked the opinion of Council regarding the closing <1; -of the Light Plant office on that day. Councilman Marino moved that the office of the Z. Light Plant he closed on Monday, November 12, 1956 in observance of Veterans Day. .tC Seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer. Mr. Beck reported that the Whitewater Valley Generating Plant was lost for 4 or 5 hours on October 3rd, but electric service was continued because of the inter-connection . and the availability of the Johnston Street Plant. , Mr. Beck read a letter from a coal supplier regarding the price increase of coal. He read that the price would go up $.25 per ton on contract and spot orders and that this would amount to 030,000.00 per year increase for Richmond. IIIClaims in the amount `of -.266,117.56 were allowed. Of this amount, the following transfers were made: • $30,812.49 from Utility Bond Fund, Cash, to Cash Operating Fund 36,000.00 from Depreciation Reserve Fund, Cash, to Cash Operating Fund 31,669.31 from Cash Reserve Fund to Cash Operating Fund There being no further business presented, on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
