Mt 'IICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, MONDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1956 • The Common Council.of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of,the operation.of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, October 1, 1956, at .the hour of.6:00 P.M. (CST). Councilman Marino presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Eastman, Hoskins, Smithmeyer, Thomas and Vivian. Councilman Crum, Salzarulo and Walterman' being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: • Councilman Smithmeyer moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be .approved as published. Seconded by Councilman Thomas. Councilman Vivian moved that the bills be allowed. Seconded by Councilman Thomas, r.; Mr. Beck reported that the system demand for September was 5.9% over September of 1955 and that the peak load in September was 11.6% over September of 1955, • Mr. Beck presented the contract of the Oberle-Jordre Company for the extension of the smoke stack.at the "hitewater Valley Generating Plant. Councilman Vivian moved that in the absence of Councilman Salzarulo, Mr. Beck be authorized to sign said contract. Seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer and. on voice vote was unaminously carried. • Mr. Beck asked for a resolution authorizing him to sign nigh-of-way agreements with the C & 0 Railroad. He stated the C & 0 requested the signature of the Mayor on said agreements and a Resolution would be necessary if he (Mr. Beck) is to sign the agree- ments. The City Attorney said he would prepare a resolution to this effect. Claims in the amount of $112,155.55 were allowed.
