HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-17-1956 2 0 5_ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 1956 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, September 17, 1956, at the hour of 6:00 o'clock P.M. (CST). Councilman Salzarulo presiding with the following members wing present: Messrs. Crum, Eastman, Hoskins, Marino, Smithmeyer, Thomas, Vivian and Waltermann. The following business was had, to-wit: III Councilman Crum moved and Councilman Marino seconded that the minutes be approved as published. Councilman Marino moved and Councilman Thomas seconded that the bills be allowed. Councilman Salzarulo, Chairman of the Light Plant Committee, read the minutes of the Board of Works meeting in regardto the relocation of street lights and underground „� cables on South 3rd Street. He told the Light Plant Committee that he felt that the `` :, costs of this relocation should be paid for out of the Off-Street harking Fund. The -‘ City Attorney advised the Committee that they had previously by unanimous vote agreed ,e that the Light Plant should stand the cost of the above work. The Committee agreed that-the Light Plant should stand this cost. - e The meeting was turned over to Mr. Beck. Mr. Beck reported that all materials less a controller had been received for the stop light at North 10th and "J" Street and that said light would be installed when the controller was received. Mr. Beck presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium on the dates of September 4th and September llth -that sealed bids would be received on this date for the extension of the smoke stack at the Whitewater Valley Generating Plant. The proofs IIIwere ordered received and filed. Mr. Beck opened the only bid received as follows: Oberle-Jodre Company, Richmond, Indiana $10,046.00 Mx. Beck reported that this bid was in line with the estimate made by the Engineers, • Councilman Marino moved that this bid be accepted, seconded by Councilman Thomas and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Claims in the amount of $151,611.32 were allowed.' Of this amount the following transfers were made: The sum of $36,000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash 30,812.50 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund 25,145.70 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund ' 903.50 from Depreciation Reserve Fund to Cash Operating Fund There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, ' the meeting adjourned. /�7 f �-'� �lG�//C� • Chair,m Attest: ,�III � '� & ,�� City Clerk
