MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1956
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in
Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met
in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Tuesday,
September 4,, 1956, at the hour of 6:00 &clock P.M. (CST). Councilman Salzarulo
presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Crum, Eastman, Hoskins,
Marino, Salzarulo, Thomas, Vivian and Waltermann. Councilman Smithmeyer being
• absent. The following business was had, to-wit:
Councilman Eastman moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed
with, seconded by Councilman Marino. Unanimous voice vote.
The meeting was turned over to Mr. Beck. -
Mr. Beck reported that the demand for August was up 11% over the same period
las year and that the peak load was up 13% over the month of August, 1955.
Mr. Beck read a letter from City Engineer Deuker in which the Light Plant was
advised the City was going to widen South 3rd Street from Main to South "A". He
said it would cost the Light Plant approximately $1700.00 to relocate the
underground cables, street lights, stop light and erect temporary lights.
Councilman Vivian moved that this work be done in cooperation with the City and
that the Light Plant assume the cost. Seconded by Councilman Eastman. ,Unanimous
voice vote.
Claims in the amount of $163,506.56 were allowed.
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and
carried, the meeting adjourned.
