MONDAY, JULY 2, 1956 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in Charge of the Operation og the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, July 2, 1956, at the hour of 6:00 c°clock P.M. (CST). Councilman Salzarulo presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Crum, Hoskins, Marino, Thomas, Vivian and Walterman. The following business was had, to-wit: . Councilwomen Hoskins moved- and Councilman Thomas seconded that• the bills be allowed. - - Councilman Salzarulo reported that Mr. Beck. was on vacation. Councilman Marino moved that on and after July 1, 1956, the wage and salary schedules of all employees of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, with the exception'., of the City Officials, be adjusted as follows: HOURLY 'EMPLOYEES • Present Rate Increase $1.50 - $1.79 Per Hour 8¢ Per Hour 1.80 - 1.98 " " 90 " tt 1.90 - 2.09 " n 100 n n • 2.10 - 2.29 " " llr. Over tt 't NO INCREASE Troubleman Rate NO INCREASE Councilmam Marino further moved that the following clause be adopted and incorpor- ated in the Conditions of Employment of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant. OCCUPATIONAL ACCIDENT COMPENSATION In the event any regular employee is absent from work one (1) or more consecutive scheduled working days because of occupational accident, beginning with the first scheduled working day, the employee will be paid 75% of his regular rate of pay less the amount of compensation' Ill payments paid the, employee by the "Company" under the Indiana Workman's Compensation Act for his 'regularly scheduled hours as determined by his normal work schedule for a period not to exceed the credited sick leave hours of the employee. Councilman Thomas seconded this motion and on voice vote was unaminously carried. Coulcilman Salzerulo reported that Black and Veatch, Engineers, had been in consul- tation with Mr. Beck regarding the smoke from the Whitewater Valley Station and that precipitators may be necessary for smoke control. Council expressed the opinion that Black and Veatch should be held responsible for expenditures made to control the smoke. 19.9 Claims in the amount of $160,340.36 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made: The sum of • $30,812.51 from the Cash C'perating Fund to Utility Bond Fund There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and o rried, the Irieeting adjourned, Ch )man Attest: .L City Clerk e
