MONDAY, MAY 7, 1956. ' The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, May 7, 1956, at the hour of 6:00 o'clock P.M. (CST). " Councilman Salzarulo presid- ing with the following members being present: Nesrs.. Crum, Hoskins, Marino, Siith- meyer, Thomas, Vivian and i".altermann. Councilman Eastman being absent. The follow- ing business was had, to-wit: Councilman Smithmeyer moved and Louncilman Vivian seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as published. • Councilman Crum moved and Councilman Vivian sedonded that the bills be allowed. The meeting was turned over to Hr. Beck, Mr. Beck reported that the generation for April was 7.09% over April of last ' year and. the peak load for April was 10.95; over April of last year. Mr. Beck presented a Budget Plan for home owners who use electric heating and re- commended that it be put into effect. Councilman Marino moved and Councilman Waltermann seconded that Mr. Beck be allowed to put the heating plan budget into effect at once and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Peck presented the following amendment to the Employees Pension Plan as prepared by the Pension Committee: • • CONTINENTAL ASSUANACE COMPANY CHICAGO, ILLTNTOTS AMEND 7UT TO THE APPLICATIOiE TO B;, ATTACHED TO AND CONSTITUTE A PART OF GROUP POLICY NO. GP-222 ISSUED BY THE CONTINENTAL ASSURANCE COMP NY TO THE CITY OF RIC7JIOND, INDIANA MUNICIPALELECTRIC LTGHTTNG ANDPOWER Pam15_\T T. At the Employer's request the second sentence of Section 1 "Eligibility Requirements" is amended to read: • "All other present and new Employees, who on any policy anniversary have been employed by-the EMployor for at least one year, shall be eligible for insurance under the retirement income plan from such later date provided Employees hired between June 1, 1954 and June 1, 1G56 may defer such eligibility for one year. " • This Amendment shall be effective June 1, 1956. Councilman Marino moved and Councilman Thomas seconded that this amendment be approved. Mr. Peck presented the following bids on a one-ton 6 cyl, pick-up truck: • Dea Meadows Ford Sales, Inc. $1963.40 Nhitewater Valley Sales 1730,75 Councilman Vivian moved and Councilman Crum seconded that the Aitewater Valley Sales bid be accepted and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Claims in the count of $150,808.00 were allowed.
