MINUTES OF THE ME&ING OF THE CONL ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT. MONDAY, MARCH 5, 1956. • The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in . regular session in the Council, Chambers, in the City Hall in said City, Monday, March 5, 1956, at the hour of 6:00 o'clock P.M. (CST). Councilman Salzarulo pre- siding with the following members being present: Messrs. Crum, Eastman, Hoskins, Marino, Smithmeyer, Thomas, and•Waltermann. Councilman Vivian being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: Councilman Marino moved and Councilman Smithmeyer seconded that the minutes of the . previous meeting be approved as published. Councilman Marino moved and Councilwoman Hoskins seconded that the bills be allowed, and on voice vote was unanimously carried. The meeting was turned over to Mr. Beck.. Mr. Beck, General Manager, explained the use and. cost of the standby service for the M.E.L. & P.P. for the benefit of the new Council members. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed'in.the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation on the dates of February 21 and February 28, . 1956, that sealed bids would be received on this date for the rental of 45 acres of ;ground at the Whitewater Valley Generating Station. The proofs were ordered filed. Two sealed bids were received, opened and read. aloud: L. Wuertenberger and Son - 30% profits to go to the owner and 70% to the renter Willard Woodruff Rent of $16.00 per acre or $640.00 total for the 40 acres Councilman.Maltermann moved and Councilman Marino seconded that.the bid of Willard Woodruff be accepted and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Beck was told to contact Mr. Woodruff and inform him of the successful bid. - Mr. Beck reported that the generation for February was 16.26% over February 1955 and that the peak load had increased 12.6. Mr. Beck read a letter from Townsend Tree Service, Muncie, Indiana, regarding a supplement to the contract with the M.E.L. & P.P. - The new rates as stated in the letter are as follows: $1,75 per man hour • 1.75 per truck hour - 1.50 per hour for the power saw when used - Councilman Eastman moved and Councilman Marino seconded that this supplement to the original contract be accepted and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Claims in the amount of $248,191.75 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made: The sum of $31,104.17 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund 50,995.98 from Construction Account 1°und to Cash Operating Fund 3,157.74• from Depreciation Reserve Fund to Cash Operating Fund There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. • Char • r '4 Attest: A%/ Z) / City Clerk
