OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT. • MONDAY, FEBRUA.RY 20, 1956 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power,Plant,, met ' incregular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, February 20, 19r6, at the hour of 6:00 o'clock P.M. (CST). Councilman Salzarulo presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Cruip, Eastman, Hoskins, Marino, Thomas and Waltermann. Councilmen Smithmeyer and Vivian being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: Councilman Marino moved and Councilman Thomas seconded that the minutes of the . Light Plant meeting held February 6, 1956 be approved as published. Councilman Eastman moved that the bills be allowed, seconded by Councilman Crum and on voice vote was unanimously carried., - The meeting was turned over to Mr. Beck. _ Mr. Beck reported he had received approved copies of the revised rate schedule . filed with the Public Service Commission of Indiana and that he would confer with them at a later date regarding further rate revisions for Richmond. • Mr. Beck reported that there, are just three (3) contracts outstanding on the construction of the Whitewater Valley Generating Station and they would- be cleared up as soon as possible. Mr. Beck read a letter he had received from the Richmond Traffic Council inviting . • the M.E.L.& P.P. to membership in the Council. The dues for 'business and in- ` dustrial membership being $10.00 a year. Councilman Fa stman moved and Councilman Crum seconded that a further study be made regarding this membership and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Beck remarked on the $.06 per mile allowance paid by the City for city employees using their personal cars for out of town city business. He recommended that the Council set a new rate for all city employees who use their cars for city business. Mr. Beck said that at the next meeting to be held on March 5, 1956, bids would be opened for the rental of 4.5 acres of ground.at,the Whitewater .ValleyGenerating Station. Claims in the amount of $185,943.45 were.allowed. _ Of this amount the following . transfers were made: The sum of $32,562.37 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund _ 31,104.17 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund 36,000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund • Councilman Marino moved and Councilman Thomas seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
