MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 1956
The Tnmmon Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Light—
ing and` Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in said City, Monday, January 16, 1956, at the hour
of 6: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Salzarulo presiding with the
following members being present: Messrs. Crum, Eastman, Hoskins,
Marino, Smithmeyer, Thomas, Vivian and Waltermann. The following
business was had, to—wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
It was moved and seconded by unanimous vote that the bills be allowed.
Mr. Beck read a letter from Hap Clark regarding the Light Plan property
r®+r that he has been renting for the past two years. Mr. Clark asked for
a reduction of rent on the said land. Councilman Marino moved to
allow no reduction in rent and that Mr. Beck should contact Mr. Clark
dand see if he will renew the lease for the same amount of rent as he
is now paying. This motion was seconded by Councilman Vivian and on
voice vote was unanimously carried.
Councilman Vivian, moved for the adoption of the Proposed revisions in
the Light Plant rate schedules, and authorized Mr. Beck to file the
revised schedules with the Public Service Commission. Councilman East—
man seconded the motion and on voice vote was unanimously carried.
Councilman Marino moved that the Petitions for street lights on South
"F" Street between 17th and 19th Streets be turned over to Mr. Beck
for his recommendations. Councilman Thomas seconded this motion and
on voice vote was unanimously carried.
Mr. Beck explained the monthly Light Plant reports for the benefit of
the new Councilmen.
Claims in the amount of $123, 500. 65 were allowed. Of this amount the
following transfers were made: The sum of
a28, 337. 30 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund
36, 000-.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve
Fund Cash
3, 904. 42 from Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash to Cash -
Operating Fund

There being no further business presented, ' on motion duly made, se—
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
