AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17.030 OF THE MOAB MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council on the advice of the Moab City
Planning Commission feels that it is necessary to amend the
objectives and characteristics and use requirements of the C-5
zone to make this zone more in keeping with the way the zone is
actually being used and should be used,
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS:
That Chapter 17.030 is hereby amended to read as follows:
17.030.010 Objectives and Characteristics. The C-5
neighborhood commercial zone has been established for the primary
purpose of providing a location where commercial establishments
can exist in residential surroundings. This zone is
characterized by stores, shops and establishments in a well
landscaped environment.
In order to accomplish the objectives and purpose of this
title and to promote the characteristics of this zone, the
following regulations shall apply in the C-5 neighborhood
commercial zone.

17.030.020 Use requirements. The following buildings,
structures and uses of land shall be permitted in the C-5 zone
upon compliance with the requirements set forth in this title:
A. Convenience establishments as defined in this
title;
B. Parking lots;
C. Pet shops;
D. Accessory signs;
E. Recreational vehicle courts subject to
requirements set forth in this title;
F. Motels and hotels;
G. Schools and other public buildings;
H. Day care centers;
I. Cafes;
J. Gyms;
K. Apartments;
L. Single family dwellings;
M. Fraternities and lodges;
N. Non-profit organizations;
O. Mini -storage units.
Section 17.030.030 Area, width and location requirements.
There shall be no area, width or location requirements, except
for land that is necessary to provide for required off-street
parking and, except that all buildings shall be set back at least
fifteen feet from the boundaries of the C-5 zone.
Section 17.030.040 Special provisions. A11 off-street
parking space shall be hard surfaced.
