MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND. POWER 'PLANT.
MONDAY, - MARCH 21, . i955.
The Common Council' of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee.-..in -Charge of the Operation- -of the Municipal Electric Light-
ing and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in said City, Monday, March 21, 1955, at the 'our
of 6:'00 o ' clock P.M. ( CST) . Councilman Alkire presiding with the
following members being present: Messrs. Eastman, Kettelforder, '
Law, Marino, Riggleman, Salzarulo, Tracy and Youngflesh. The follow-
ing business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with. -
Mr. Beck reported that a request to use the new Light Plant grounds
for an Easter. egg hunt -on Easter Sunday Afternoon was presented to
e him for consideration. After thorough-study by the .Council it was
,...� decided that the site requested was not. in readiness for such an
event, •
Mr. Beck •outlined the need for a new line truck which is needed : to
``et speed up the work. to be completed throughout the city. Councilman
Eastman moved that Mr. Beck be authorized to proceed with the pre-
paration of specifications for a new line truck and receive proposals
for the same for Council' s consideration. This motion was seconded
by Councilman Tracy and on voice vote the motion was uanaimously
carried.
Councilman Law moved . that a street light be installed in front of the
residence of 1533 South llth Street as requested in a petition signed
by .12 resident property owners on South llth Street. This motion was
seconded by Councilman Kettelforder and on voice vote the motion was
unanimously carried.
Councilmen Tracy and Youngflesh on the claims for April, 1955.
Claims in the amount of 178, 240. 05 were allowed. Of this amount the
following transfer was made: The sum of
$4, 695. 39 from Construction Account Fund to Cash
Operating Fund.

conded and carried, the meeting adjourned..
