MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
, MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1954.

The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a '
Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electric Light-
ing and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in said City, Monday, October 4, 1954, at the hour
of 7:00 o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Tracy presiding with the
. following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Eastman, Kettelforder,
Law, Marino, Riggleman., Salzaru.lo and Youngflesh. ' The following
business was had, to-wit: .
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with. .
The request for adequate street lighting in the Hunt Addition was re-
ferred to Mr. Beck for his study and recommendation.
Mr. Beck reported that he had notified various concerns that bids
would be received to replace the roof on the water softner building
at the Light Plant. ' The following bids were received:

Crabtree-Maule ,2, 685.00
Juerling & Sons 3, 577. 00
On recommendation of Mr. Beck, Councilman Kettelforder moved that
the bid of Crabtree-Maule in the sum of S2, 685. 00 be accepted. This
motion was seconded by Councilman Youngflesh and on voice vote was
carried unanimously. .
Mr. Beck reported that the new Light Plant would be receiving coal
for storage in the amount of ten thousand. (10,000) tons, which was
purchased at an extremely good price.
Claims in the amount of .$442, 396. 44 were allowed. Of this amount the
following transfers were made: The sum of
$129,063. 26 from Construction Account Fund to Cash
Operating Fund
60. 33 from Consumers Deposit Fund to Cash Operating
Fund
31, 979. 16 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund
25,000. 00 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund
20, 955. 76 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve
- Fund Cash.
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, se-
- conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
