MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, AUGUST 16, 1954.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in Charge of the Operation of the Municipal Electtic Light-
ing and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in said City, Monday, August 16, 1954, at the hour
of 6:00 o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Tracy presiding with the
following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Eastman, Kettelforder,
Law, Riggleman, Salzarulo and Youngflesh. Councilman Marino being
absent: The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Councilman Eastman moved that appropriate street lighting be installed
on Northwest 6th Street from Main to Pearl Street. This motion was
seconded by Councilman Law and on voice vote was unanimously carried.
Mr. Beck presented the proposed street lighting layout for Ravinia Park
Second Addition which had been petitioned for by the property owners.
Councilman Salzarulo moved that the layout as presented be approved.
Councilman Law seconded the motion and on voice vote was unanimously
carried.
Mr. Beck presented quotations from the automobile dealers for the
replacement of a 1949 2-door sedan used by the Meter Department. Two
quotations were received as follows:
Kurdy Chevrolet Company quoted a net price of t$1025.00
Dea Meadows Ford Sales quoted a net price of $1050.00
On recommendation of Mr. Beck, Councilman Riggleman moved that the
1954 business coupe as quoted by Kurdy Chevrolet Company at $1025. 00
net be accepted. This motion was seconded by Councilman Youngflesh
and on voice vote was carried.
The Street Light Committee appointed to study a request for a street
light on South "B" Street between South 13th and South 14th Streets .
had no report to submit.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the next regular meeting
will be held. Tuesday, September 7, 1954.
Claims• in the amount of e103, 261.59. Of this amount the following
transfer was made: The sum of
U8, 300.41 from Construction Account Fund to Cash
Operating Fund.
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the ,meeting adjourned.
