MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1953. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation. of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, October 19, 1953, at the hour of 7: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) , . Councilman Eastman pre- ' siding with the following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law, Marino, Tracy and Youngflesh. Council- man Salzarulo being absent. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Beck advised the committee that sealed bids would be received November 16, 1953, for Single Circuit Street Transmission Towers or Double Circuit Steel Transmission Towers for the Light Plant expansion program. Councilman Youngflesh moved that the Lamp Contract be awarded to the Richmond Electric Company for a period of two years, seconded by Councilman Alkire and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. Councilman Tracy moved that the General Manager be authorized to investigate investment of 8600, 000. 00 of the Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash into United States Government Bonds, seconded by Council- man Marino and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. •The claims in the amount of 0338, 382. 32 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made: The sum of 20, 396. 23 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Fund Cash 25, 000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund 875,000. 00 from Sinking Fund to Cash Operating Fund '5L, 956. 16 from Cash Operating Fund to Utility Bond Fund Operating.
