MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL.. .:
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY„ OC.TOBER 5, 1953.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Light-
ing and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in said. City, Monday, October 5, 1953, at the hour
of 7: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the
following members being present: Messrs. Baldwin, Kettelforder,
Marino, Tracy and Youngflesh, Messrs. Alkire, Law and Salzarulo
absent: . The following business was had,, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Beck submitted a plan for installing 6-4.000 L. Pendant type
street lights in Travers Park Terrace Sub-division located north: of
Peacock Road between N.W. 13th Street and N.W. 16th Street at a cost
of $181,96 per light.
,t Councilman Tracy moved that the plans submitted be approved and be
forwarded to the Board of Works for their consideration, seconded
by Councilman Marino and on voice vote the motion was unanimously
carried.

The Committee requested that Mr. Beck make a thorough study of the
street lighting requirements in the new additions south of "E° Street
from South 17th Street to South .22nd. Street and also in and near the
-Charles Addition and submit his recommendations.
The Committee unanimously voted to authorize the Light Plant to allow
the sum of >17.5.00 to sponsor .a Basketball team this coming season.
Claims in the amount of 014.1, 730. 97 were allowed: Of this amount
the following transfer was made: The sum of
$15, 000.00 from Cash Operating. Fund to Sinking Fund. .
There being no further business presented .on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
