MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 1953 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Light- ing and Power Plant, met in : regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, August 17, 1953, at the hour of 7: 00 o' clock P.M. (CDST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law, Marino, Salzarulo, Tracy and Youngflesh. The following proceed- ings were had , to-wit: . • On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with, - Councilman Tracy moved that the General Manager prepare an advertise- ment to receive bids for the leasing of 40 acres of land near the light nlant site for a one year period; • seconded by Councilman Alkire and on voice vote the motion. was unanimously carried. Mr, Beck was requested to get more quotations for a safe that is .needed at the Light Office. The committee on the street light installation .request reported that street lights are needed on Reller, Laird, Russell and Gardner . Streets and recommended the same to be installed. The committee voted un- animously to accept the recommendation of the committee. - • • Councilman Baldwin moved. that a street light be installed in front of 310 N.W. "F" Street as requested in a petition, This motion was se- conded by Councilman Kettelforder and on voice vote was unanimously carried. This body unanimously voted to hold the next regular meeting, .Tuesday, September 8, 1953, instead of September 7th, 1953, which is Labor Day. Claims in the amount of rt 139, 684. 77, were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made: The sum of Su20, 3O6. 03 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund fi125, 000. 00 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund 115 , 000, 00 from Cash Operating Fund to Sinking Fund There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. • COUNCILMEN MARINO AND SALZARULO ON THE CLAIMS FOR SEPTEMBER 1953. - Chairman • Attest: • City C ,rk •
