MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, JUNE 15, 1953.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Light-
ing and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in said City, Monday, June 15, 1953 at the hour of
II 7: 00 P.M. (CDST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the following
members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law,
Marino, Tracy and Youngflesho Councilman Salzarulo being absent.
The following Proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond
Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
V, Richmond, Indiana, on May 25 and June 1, 1953, that sealed proposals ,
,-{ would be received on this date until the hour of 6: 00 P.M. (CST) for
4:1 furnishing - Item I-Outdoor Metal Clad Switch Gear-Units #1 and #2;
‹.21: or Item-II-Outdoor Metal Clad Switch Gear-Units #1 and #2, less all
Control and Relaying Devices. All in accordance /with documents on
'et file in the office of the City Clerk. The proofs were ordered filed
and received on motion duly made, seconded and carried.
The following bids were received, opened and read aloud:.

Councilman Tracy moved that the above bids be referred to the General
Manager and Muncie Construction Corporation, Consulting Engineers, for
tabulation and recommendations.
- Councilman Marino moved that the Light Plant 'give the same assistance
that has been given in the past to the Harry Ray Post for the 4th of
July celebration Program; seconded by Councilman Alkire and on voice
vote was unanimously carried.
On motion by Councilman Marino, seconded by Councilman Tracy and un-
animously carried; Council voted to accept the option for a tract of
• land owned by the Wayne County Farm Bureau, 'to be used for a substation
site. They also authorized the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance
transferring ��9,000.00. from the Light Plant fund to the City General
Fund for the purchase of this property.
The Committee allowed the claims in the sum of 7204, 074. 79.
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made,
seconded_ and carried; the meeting adjourned.
