HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-20-1953 101 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL • OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT. MONDAY, APRIL 20, 1953. • The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a com- mittee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting IIand Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said. City, Monday, April 20, 1953, at the hour of 7: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Eastman Presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law, Marino, Salzarulo, Tracy and Youngflesh. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made , seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palla- • C,, dium-Item,, a newspaper of general circulation in said City on the dates ,..,{ of March 16, and 23, 1953, that sealed bids would be received on this ,fs date until the hour of 7:00 o' clock P.M. (CST) for general construction of the Whitewater Valley Station main building structure and specified auxiliary structures all in accordance with documents now on file. . On det motion duly made, seconded and carried, the proofs of publication were ordered received and filed. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palla- dium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in said City on the dates of March 24 and 31, ,1953, that sealed bids would be received on this date until the hour of 7: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) for One (1) Traveling Crane for the Whitewater Valley Station per specifications on file. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the proofs of publication were ordered re- ceived and filed. Beck and Black & Veatch, Engineers to tabulate and recommend. 1-0-2 On motion duly made, seconded and carried, this Body will meet on Daylight Saving Time between May 1, 1953 to September 26, 1953. Councilman Law moved that Ross, McCord, Ice and Miller, Bond Attorney' s, be retained as bonding attorneys for the bond issue for the Whitewater Alley Station, seconded by Councilman Tracy and on voice vote was un- animously carried. Claims in the amount of $162, 679. 68 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made: The sum of ,25, 000. 00 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund. 15, 000. 00 from Cash Operating Fund to Sinking Fund Cash. $19, 950. 09 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash. R 6, 243. 32 from Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash to Cash Operating Fund. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
