ORDINANCE NO. 74-2005
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE
WHEREAS, The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute has grant funding available through U.S.D.O.T. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used for Operation Pull Over and DUI Taskforce activities; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Sixty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Dollars and No Cents ($63,360.00).
Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to fund Traffic Safety Activities, specifically:
(a) $24,860.00 for Operation Pullover activities; and
(b) $38,500.00 for DUI Taskforce activities.
Passed and adopted this _7th_ day of November____ 2005, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
