MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE
OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHT-
ING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY L_ DECEMBER 8, 192. —
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
committee in charge of • the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant
of said City, met in special session, Monday, December 8, 1952, at the
hour of 7: 30 o' clock P.M. (.CST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the
following members being present,: Messrs. Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law,
Marino, Salzarulo and Youngflesh. Councilmen Alkire and Tracy being
absent. The following business was had, to-wit:
The presiding officer stated that this meeting was called for business
pertaining only to that of opening of bids for Structural Steel and
Miscellaneous Steel.
The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond
Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation on the 1st day of
December, 1952, that sealed proposals would be received until the hour
of 7: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) on this date for furnishing f. o.b. cars or
furnishing and erecting complete at the Whitewater Valley Station of
the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, in Richmond, Wayne
County, Indiana, the following, all in accordance with documents now
on file in City Clerk' s office ,of said City. The proofs of publication
were ordered filed on motion duly made, seconded and carried.
The following bids were received and read aloud:
Whitehead and Kales Co. , River Rouge, Mich. $412, 140. 00
Steel Construction Co. , Birmingham, Ala. 386, 950. 00
Bethlehem Steel Corp. , Chicago, Ill. 375, 400.00
Oberle-Jorde Co. , Richmond, Indiana 388, 108. 00
Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Co. , Pittsburg, Pa. 374-,44.4. 00
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, all bids were referred to
the General Manager and Consulting Engineers for tabulations and rec-
ommendations to this Body.
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
