HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-17-1952 81 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17. 1952. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a commit- tee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, November 17, 1952, at the hour of 8: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law, Marino, Salzarulo, Tracy and Yoingflesh. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Don Bell, spokesman for the Fire and Casualty Insurance Assn. of ;-;r, Richmond, Indiana, recommended that a new schedule for insurance, applicable to the Generating Station and Auxiliary Units, be amended 4.7,,:i to include a 90% blanket clause instead of the present 80% clause, It "'' was moved by Councilman" Tracy, seconded by Councilman Alkire and carried, d that this group prepare the complete data and their recommendation. A letter from the City Light Plant Employees was read, proposing the Plant payroll be increased by 7 % to be allocated on a cent per hour to conform with increases in payrolls of surrounding utilities. This was referred to the General Manager to make further study and recommen- dations. It was announced that sealed Proposals would be received Monday, Decem- ber 1, 1952, for furnishing Structural Steel, Reinforcing Steel and 12" Steel Pipe for the new plant site. IIThe claims in the sum of S130,550. 03 were allowed. Of this amount the following transfers were made: the amount of $1821. 02 from Depreciation Reserve Fund Case to Cash Operating Fund; the amount of $25, 000. 00 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund; the amount of $15, 000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Sinking Fund Cash; the amount of $23,026. 12 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash.
