HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-03-1952 S MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1952. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Commit- tee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant of said City, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, November 3, 1952, at the hour of 8: 00 o' clock P.M. ( CST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the follow- ing members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, Law, Salzarulo, Tracy and Youngflesh. Councilman Marino being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Beck presented each member with a tabulation sheet and the Engineers' analysis of bids for furnishing two (2) 10, 000 K.V.A. transformers, re- ceived and opened in the regular Light Plant meeting of October 20, 1952. The low bid of .y37, 008.00 of the Pennsylvania Transformer Company was in error and was confirmed by said Company in a letter which was accepted on advice of the City Attorney. On recommendation of the Black and Veatch, Engineers, and concurrence of Mr. Beck, Councilman Alkire moved that the bid of the Allis Chalmers Company be accepted to furnish the two (2) transformers for the lump sum of S70, 192. 00 with a maximum escalated price of S84 ,230.40; seconded by Councilman Tracy, and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Beck submitted a letter to each member accompanied with the Pro- posed Light Plant Budget for 1953. An ordinance will be prepared on said Budget if it meets with the approval of this Body. The claims in the amount of $118,599.38 were allowed. There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded; and carried, the meeting adjourned. Chairman Attest: „„,, City 71e k
