MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS .
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1252.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a commit-
tee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and
Power Plant met in Special Session in the Council Chambers in the City
Hall in said City, Monday, September 22, 1952, at the hour of 7:30
o' clock P.M. (CST) . Councilman Eastman presiding with the following
members being present: Messrs. Kettelforder, Law, Marino, Saizarulo,
Tracy and Youngflesh. Councilmen Alkire and Baldwin being absent. The
following business was had, to- wit:
The presiding officer stated that this special meeting was being called
to receive and open bids fob equipment for the new light plant and that
would be the only business transacted.
The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond
Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Richmond, Indiana, printed on September 9th and 16th, 1952, that sealed
bids would be received up to the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. (CST) on
this 22nd day of September, 1952 and then would be publicly opened and
read aloud for furnishing f. o.b. cars at the Whitewater Valley Station
of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant in Richmond, Indiana,
the following: coal handling system and erecting complete; ash handling
system and erecting complete: combustion control and instruments; water
treatment equipment; chlorination equipment; and heating boiler.
Councilman Tracy moved that the proofs of publications be received and ,
filed, seconded by Councilman Kettelforder and on voice vote was un-
animously carried.
All bids were opened and read aloud by Mr. Harries, consultant of Black
and Veatch, engineering firm of Kansas City, Mo.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the bids were referred to the
General Manager and Mr. Harries to tabulate all bids and make recommen-
dations - to this Body.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and carried,
the meeting adjourned.
